Corbin Russwin is an American lock manufacturer that produces low and medium security padlocks and lock cylinders. The company is a combination of the older Corbin and Russwin brands, both of which primarily produced pin-tumbler lock designs. Corbin Russwin is owned by ASSA-Abloy.

History

Russwin was founded in 1839 by Henry Russell and Cornelius Erwin. Corbin was founded in 1849 by Phillip Corbin, Frank Corbin, and Ed Doen. In 1902 the two companies merged to form The American Hardware Corporation.[1] The American Hardware Corporation was eventually acquired by Emhart in 1964 and has since been acquired by ASSA-Abloy. ASSA-Abloy chose to merge the Corbin and Russwin product lines, forming Corbin Russwin.

The Corbin brand is still individually marketed in certain parts of the world, particularly Italy.[2]
