Slim Jim

Slim Jim is the trade name for a brand of automobile lockout tools that allows bypass entry to locked car doors. A slim piece of metal with a hook on the end is inserted between the car door window and the door frame and used to directly manipulate the latch mechanism.

The original manufacturer of slim jims was HPC Inc. The term has now fallen into the generic for all forms of car lockout tools.
