Principles of operation
The No. 22 lock is a warded lock. The standard No. 22 can be opened in both directions. The No. 22 is not a key retaining padlock.
The No. 22 cannot be disassembled non-destructively. To disassemble it the rivets that hold the laminated body together must be removed and each layer removed individually.
The No. 22 is vulnerable to several attacks. Warded locks are easy to pick due to the unsophisticated design of a warded lock. The No. 22 is vulnerable to one or more of the following:
